Langtang Gosainkunda Holy Lake Trek is a popular destination that lies in the altitude of 4,380m. This trek provides freshness of holy water of Gosaikunda. One amazing thing about this lake is that it freezes in winter and its melted water serves as a source for Trisuli River in summer which is a matter of importance for Hindus and Buddhists. The route for this trek begins from Syabrubeshi and ends at Melamchi Bridge. It takes about 17 days to complete this trek. During this trek, you can explore different culturally and naturally significant areas of the Langtang region. You will also visit villages such as Chandanbari, Melamchi Gaon, Sermathang, and Melamchi Bridge during this trek. Furthermore, the trekkers to Gosaikunda see the scenic view of Ganesh Himal, Jugal Himal, Langtang region and Nambur. Major attractions of this trek are Yak Cheese factory which is run by local people of Chandanbari, langtang sunrise and sunset, the eye-catching view of Ganesh Himal from Laurebinayak, pine and rhododendron forest that consists of different uncommon species of plants, animals and birds, glaciers, gombas and temples. The best time of the year when this trek can be planned is from March to May and September to December. However, if you plan your trek in August, you can enjoy the festival of Janai Purnima which falls in this season. At this time, there will be more Hindu devotees from India and Nepal. The maximum altitude that can be reached in this trek is till Laurinina Pass (4,610m). Thus, you must be physically fit and healthy to attempt for this trek.

The trek begins with the bus ride to Syabrubesi which takes about 9 hours. After Syabrubesi, you will need to walk till Melamchi Bridge from where we take 4-5 hours bus ride back to Kathmandu.
