Mera Peak Climbing level and offers the incomparable sight of the peaks above 6000m that even includes five of the world’s tallest peaks; Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse and Cho Oyo from the summit. Thus, Mt. Mera is popular and one of the most attempted trekking peaks in Nepal. This summit is situated in the Mahalangur section of the Makalu Barun National Park that falls in Solukhumbu district of Nepal. Mera Peak has three summits; one in the north, other in the central and the last one in the south with the height of 6,476m, 6,461m and 6,065m respectively. The first people to successfully climb this peak were Col. Jimmy Roberts and Sen Tenzing on 20th May 1953. You will need a special permit to enter the Makalu Barun National Park and attempt the peak.

This expedition begins with the flight to Lukla which takes about 40-45 minutes and it is one of the most dangerous flights in the World or by drive to Phaplu which takes about 8 hrs from Kathmandu. After we reach Lukla/Phaplu, we walk through the rhododendron forest and we can also see some pine and bamboo untill we arrive at the beautiful valley of Hinku from where we head straightly to Mera peak.
