Local Foods on Everest Base Camp Trek

During the trek to Everest Base Camp, the trail passes through various local settlements and Sherpa villages. So, the guesthouses and teahouses too are based on their traditional style in some way, making their services look closer to their local lifestyle.
 
You may also find specific Western dishes in different places on the trail, but the wide availability of water dishes are too available at lower altitudes on the Everest trail.

Dal Bhat Tarkari

Dal (lentil), Bhat (Rice), and Tarkari (vegetables) is one of the best combo meals in whole Nepal. It is also due to its high-calorie content and longer-lasting energy. On the Everest Trail, you will be getting mostly Dal Bhat Tarkari all around the trail.
Also, with different vegetables and non-veg options, the taste is enhanced.

Thukpa

Chow Mein

Even in the remote location, breakfast mostly includes a modern approach with the combination of omelets, toasted bread, and jam as well. The option for eggs to get the boiled one also is an option on the menu.

There are varieties of beverages available on the Everest trail. It features normal drinks like tea, coffee, and hot chocolate with a variety of choices. You can also enjoy alcoholic beverages such as beer during your journey, but it is recommended to keep the consideration when to drink as well as consult your guide due to the altitude reasons.
