Himlung Himal is one of the majestic mountains in the remote part of the Nepal-Tibet border. It exactly lies in the North-East of the Annapurna Mountain Ranges, in the Manaslu region. Himlung Himal is located above the village of ‘Phu’, which is influenced by Tibetan culture. This mountain had been opened for climbers only after 1992. The Himlung expedition is considered less technical compared to other summit trekking in Nepal.
Besides these, the path in this expedition is enriched with several rural villages, dense forest areas, narrow valleys, beautiful monasteries, and high passes. The daring climb of Himlung Mountain above 7000m provides an impressive view of the Manaslu Himalayan ranges, the Annapurna Himalayan ranges, and other nearby snow-filled summits, including magnificent alpine valleys.
The Himlung Expedition with Himalaya King Trekking & Expedition gives a wonderful opportunity to climbers seeking adventure and helps to discover the trekking region, enriched with natural and cultural diversity. It also provides memory that can be cherished for a lifetime. This expedition begins in Kathmandu. The drive from Kathmandu towards Chamie will be done after sightseeing around Kathmandu in a day. Chamje is the beginning point of this trek. We have to cross over a suspension bridge to go from Chamje to the village of Tal. Our track will go through the west bank of the river as we reach Dharapani. Before climbing to the stone huts in Singenge, we will go through the forest section, and we will continue trekking till we reach Kyang.
The Kyang valley trails wind around and open up above a deep gorge from where we can descend to the Phu village. Phu village is also known for being a dry stone-walled village and is believed to be around 800 years old. During the expedition, we will stay a night at Phu to explore the impressive gompa and traditional village streets.
We will go for the route that goes to Mt. Himlung Base Camp from Phu. When we reach the base camp, our Shrepa crew will make the necessary arrangements needed for setting up more camps above the base camp to complete the Himlung expedition. We will spend days going up and coming down between the higher camps as per the suggestion, guidance, and direction of our capable climbing experts before finally going for the summit of Mt. Himlung. The top gifts are the alluring view of the Manaslu range, the Annapurna range, and other nearby peaks filled with snow. We will return through the same path that is followed to reach the top of Mt. Himlung. This adventurous expedition with Himalaya King Trekking & Expedition ends in Kathmandu.
You’ll arrive in Kathmandu and be greeted by your expedition team. After completing immigration and baggage collection, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for rest or optional sightseeing.
